Project Engineer
Location: Greenville, Michigan
Reports to: Group Director of Engineering for Marvel/U-Line/Viking
Viking, U-Line, and Marvel Refrigeration, are renowned leaders in premium refrigeration and ice products, are seeking an innovative and detail-oriented Project Engineer to drive product development and engineering projects. This role is critical in ensuring the successful design, testing, and launch of new and improved products. The Project Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver engineering solutions that meet customer needs, improve efficiency, and align with strategic business goals.

Expected Hours of Work:
This position is full-time. The general scheduled workdays are Monday through Friday, plus overtime when required.
Position Overview:
Your workdays will be challenging, diverse and interesting, including managing multiple engineering projects from prototype construction to designing refrigeration systems. You will have hands-on involvement at every step for all manufactured products while maintaining the highest quality levels for our Viking, Marvel and U-Line brands. Our Project Engineers assist in bringing our refrigeration concepts to life, from paper to reality to achieve high quality products for our high-end customers.
Responsibilities:
- Management of designated engineering projects.
- Responsible for defining technical approaches to projects.
- Guide lower-level engineering staff members and assign tasks technicians as needed.
- Design of components and component assemblies for refrigeration products.
- Refrigeration system and control design
- Hands-on build-up of concept prototypes for design review and functional proof-of concept verification testing.
- Assemble electrical systems and prototypes using knowledge of electrical principles, hand tools, and measuring instruments
- Develop specifications for electronic control firmware and software.
- Utilization and maintenance of Engineering Lab data acquisition system as required to support product development.
- Creation of test procedures for functional performance qualifications.
- Creation and maintenance of material and component specifications.
- Conduct design and process FMEA’s.
- Conduct design reviews with cross-functional and management participation.
- Provide manufacturing support for both new and mature products cost.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 1-5 years of experience in the refrigeration appliance industry preferred.
- Refrigeration system and heat transfer background a plus.
- Responsible work ethic and pro-active initiative.
- “Project” not “task” oriented.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Excel and Word.
- 3D CAD modeling capabilities, (Solid Works preferred).
- Enjoys a “hands on” dynamic work environment.
- Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work 50% office & 50% shop environment–very hands on role
- 8-hour shifts
- Monday- Friday
