Van Driver/Activity Assistant - Part Time
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 8:30am-5pm
Summary
The Van Driver responsible for providing transportation for residents to and from medical appointments in a timely and safe manner. Also take residents on shopping, field trips and lunch outings. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills. Communicate with the Activity department regarding transportation daily schedule and resident needs. Assists residents with any special needs during transportation, such as carrying packages, opening doors, assisting residents into and out of the vehicle and to their destination. Inspect the vehicle to make sure it is clean and safe for residents and report any concerns to the Director of Environmental Services. Also performs Activity Assistant duties as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required
- Must possess valid drivers license in the state of Massachusetts.
- Active CPR and First Aid certification is required.
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
- Represents the community with a positive attitude and pride when interacting with potential residents and families.
- Has patience, high energy, and resourcefulness in problem solving.
- Have a demonstrated interest in the elderly and are knowledgeable of servicing their needs.
- Must have the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
- Ability to communicate effectively and proactively to appropriate facility personnel regarding emergency situations. Must be knowledgeable of all safety precautions and comply with safety procedures.
