Statement of Purpose : The data analyst will collect, analyze, and interpret large volumes of operational data from production processes, supply chains, and quality control systems to identify trends, optimize efficiency, improve product quality, and inform decision-making aimed at increasing overall productivity and cost reduction within a manufacturing facility; utilizing data analysis tools and techniques to generate actionable insights for process improvement and cost reduction strategies. They will play a key role in budgeting, pricing decisions, and financial planning, contributing to sound financial strategies and sustainable growth in a competitive market.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Analyze raw data and reports from multiple data sources to help the organization to make strategic and evidence-based decisions, by uncovering patterns and trends that will help the business to capitalize on growth opportunities, reduce costs, and mitigate risks.
• Convert current paperbound yield packet maintenance to a digital format and create future digital data collection methods that allow for quicker decision making.
• Create a visual representation of data findings to make the data understandable generating an avenue to share a daily scorecard for each line / piece of equipment on each step of product yield information, mapping and yielding each product from raw through finished product, to allow production foreman and manager the ability to make timely decisions for each run.
• Analyze business activity costs, such as raw materials, manufacturing overhead, inventory, labor and raw production data to look for trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities to help the organization cut costs and improve performance. Collaborate with the production management team to recommend changes to the company’s processes to reduce costs and maximize profit.
• Identify and investigate discrepancies between actual costs and predicted costs explaining causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Input accurate data from production sheets and calculate daily product yields developing a process to communicate timely yield performance and profitability of production run to production foreman and managers, to allow for quick investigation of inconsistencies and turnaround from production issues.

COMPETENCIES AND KNOWLEDGE

Qualifications and Education Requirements :

The Qualified Candidate will have at least a four-year degree in statistics, business administration or related field, or a two year degree with 1-3 years of data analytics experience in manufacturing or production environments preferred. The Candidate will demonstrate a strong ability to follow directions and to grow professionally throughout their employment.

Minimum Qualifications :

The Candidate must be motivated and be able to follow directions and complete tasks effectively. Thus, they must have initiative, attention to detail, organization and dependability. This person must be able to handle stressful situations in a busy office environment. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 20 pounds and regularly walk and stand and sit at a desk and work on a computer for extended periods of time. This position requires the employee to work closely with managers, supervisors, production staff, and outside organizational contacts, so teamwork and effective communication skills are very important. Must be able to effectively communicate orally, in person and over the telephone, and in writing.
