Providence Public Schools District (PPSD) seeks an exceptional MLL COLLABORATIVE COACH who is highly qualified and skillful to join our community of teachers, students and stakeholders. We serve approximately 8,000 Multilingual Learners at 37 elementary, middle, and high schools. Combined, our students and families speak 55 different languages and hail from 91 countries of origin. In PPSD, the teachers and leaders set high expectations for academic achievement, provide equal access to differentiated instruction, and endeavor to close the achievement and opportunity gap among historically marginalized subgroups within the schools.
The MLL Collaborative Coach is under the direct supervision of the building administrator with the support of the Department of Multilingual Learners. The MLL Coach will provide job-embedded support with the implementation of research based best practices for MLLs. Job-embedded support can include, but is not limited to, job-embedded coaching, co-teaching, modeling, and collaborative planning. The primary focus of this role is to build capacity within the TESOL and/or BIL/ DL certified staff and general education teachers who have students identified as MLLs to ensure that the appropriate instructional strategies are implemented in order to meet the needs of all students. The MLL Coach will also play a critical role in supporting the Department of Multilingual Learners with implementing Multilingual programs, compliance and overall student support as well as supporting with state and federal MLL reporting.
This position can teach no more than 2 periods of ELD per day

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND CERTIFICATION(S):
- BA in applicable field from accredited college or university preferred
- Full TESOL RIDE certification
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES AND CURRICULAR LINKAGES:
- Provide job-embedded support to colleagues in the implementation of best research practices, including, but not limited to, job-embedded coaching, co-teaching, modeling, and collaborative planning
- Support school with compliance with applicable federal and state laws and policies related to MLLs
- Disseminate information regarding MLL compliance regarding federal and state regulations to district stakeholders in a comprehensible way
- Communicate information regarding MLL best practices and MLL district initiatives to all stakeholders
Advocate for MLL students before, during and after the Special Education process
- Ensure the district’s MLL identification process adheres to state and federal guidelines
- Ensure proper instructional placement of ML, DLE, DLS, Bilingual students
- Support with the coordination and planning of MLL parent engagement activities in the district
- Ensure parents are provided with information as required by federal and state regulations in a language they can understand
- Serve as lead project manager for all yearly MLL reporting
- Support MLL administrative team members and school administrators meet identified goals
- Make recommendations for improvement in performance as appropriate
- Offer advice and assistance related to MLL supports as needed
- Create clear guidance regarding MLL compliance for various stakeholders
- Serve as liaison between MLL office and other district offices and schools
- Assist building leaders in implementing appropriate MLL and DLE best practices.
- Stay current on research and best practices in the area of Multilingual Learning
- Participate and lead MLL related meetings and workshops
- Coordinate yearly state and federal reporting pertaining to MLLs
- Coordinate yearly state and federal testing pertaining to MLLs
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS STANDARDS:
- Administrative or supervisory experience desirable
- Strong competency in the use of Canvas, Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint and Google Drive
