Afternoon Child Care Assistant - Part-time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After-School Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and educational environment for students after regular school hours. This role involves planning and implementing a variety of activities that promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that includes subjects such as language arts, math, art, and social studies.
• Plan and oversee daily activities that enhance children’s social and motor skills.
• Assist students with homework and assignments, providing academic support as needed.
• Prepare and organize learning materials and equipment, including books, arts and crafts supplies, and stationery.
• Interact with children to provide guidance, emotional support, and motivation.
• Create progress reports to monitor and communicate children’s academic and personal development to parents.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Ensure adherence to all school policies, rules, and guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and any areas needing improvement.
• Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.

Qualifications:

• Preferred experience working as an after-school teacher, teaching assistant, or in a similar role preferred.
• Strong understanding of child behavior and learning patterns.
• Ability to create a fun and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, friendliness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with child development.
• First aid and CPR certification.
• Ability to manage and resolve conflicts effectively.

Working Conditions:

• Part-time hours, typically in the afternoons and early evenings.
