Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic After-School Teacher to join our team. This role involves planning and implementing a variety of activities that promote social, physical, and intellectual growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum that includes subjects such as language arts, math, art, and social studies.
- Plan and oversee daily activities that enhance children’s social and motor skills.
- Assist students with homework and assignments, providing academic support as needed.
- Prepare and organize learning materials and equipment, including books, arts and crafts supplies, and stationery.
- Interact with children to provide guidance, emotional support, and motivation.
- Create progress reports to monitor and communicate children’s academic and personal development to parents.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
- Ensure adherence to all school policies, rules, and guidelines.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child’s progress and any areas needing improvement.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience working as an after-school teacher, teaching assistant, or in a similar role preferred.
- Strong understanding of child behavior and learning patterns.
- Ability to create a fun and safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, friendliness, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with child development.
- First aid and CPR certification.
