What are the responsibilities and job description for the Catering Prep Cooks position at Mary Giuliani Catering and Events?
Mary Giuliani Catering & Events is seeking cooks to assist with production at our commissary kitchen in preparation for our busy Spring season. The ideal candidate(s) will come to the table with an advanced skillset and be able to work in a fast paced environment as well as be team players for our thriving business.
Prep Cook Qualifications:
- Graduate of a top tier culinary school preferred, but not required
- Minimum 1 year experience working in off site catering, in a commissary or large scale production
- Strong knife skills; safely operate kitchen equipment
- Setup and maintain a clean work station; familiar with DOH compliance
- Experience in high volume canape and hors d' oeuvre production
- Work with a sense of urgency; meet production deadlines
- Wrap/label/store product properly; assist in maintaining inventory system
- Be able to multitask while maintaining the consistency and quality of our product
- Be able to lift 30 pounds; able to stand on your feet for long periods of time
- Be able to follow directions and recipes
- Is a team player; jumps in and assists where needed
- Experience expediting event pack out a plus
- Knowledge of pastry is a plus but not required
- A desire to learn and grow within the company
There will also be an opportunity to work off-site at events as an Event Chef or Kitchen Assistant. This is a part time, hourly position with competitive pay and room for growth for the right candidates. Please send resumes for consideration.
