Overview- Front of House (FOH)

We are excited to invite energetic, motivated individuals to join the crew of Mary Jane's Kitchen, our new Latin-Italian fusion fast-casual restaurant! As an Associate in our Front of House (FOH) team, you will be the face of our restaurant, engaging directly with customers and ensuring they have an exceptional experience from entrance to exit. You will help guests navigate our unique food offerings by guiding them down the line as they select their meals. You will take their orders, ring up their transactions, and provide outstanding customer service with a warm and welcoming attitude. Duties- Front of House (FOH)

• Greet and interact with customers in a friendly and welcoming manner, providing excellent customer service throughout their visit.
• Take and process customer orders, both in-person and through the point-of-sale (POS) system.
• Help guide customers down the line, offering information and recommendations on menu items and assisting with side and entree selections.
• Maintain cleanliness of the dining area, ensuring a pristine and inviting environment.
• Possibly assist with prepping meats, vegetables, sauces, and other ingredients.
• Wash dishes and keep kitchenware organized, ensuring proper sanitation practices are followed.
• Perform any additional duties as requested by the management team, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
• Take initiative and show willingness to cross-train in back-of-house duties, increasing knowledge, skills, and pay as you grow.

We are looking for hardworking and dependable individuals to join our Back of House (BOH) team at Mary Jane's Kitchen, our exciting new Latin-Italian fusion restaurant. As an Associate in the BOH team, you’ll be responsible for prepping and cooking our delicious dishes according to our step-by-step instructions, ensuring that all meals are made fresh, flavorful, and to the highest standards. You will have the opportunity to cross-train in the front of house (FOH), enhancing your skills, earning more pay, and growing with the business. Duties- Back of House (BOH)

• Follow step-by-step cooking instructions to prepare and cook entrees and sides for customers in a fast-paced environment.
• Prepare meats, vegetables, sauces, and other ingredients ahead of time, ensuring all items are fresh and stocked.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including dishwashing, equipment upkeep, and ensuring all food prep areas meet health and safety standards.
• Assist in food assembly when needed, ensuring all batches meet the MJK's standards for portioning, presentation, and taste.
• Stay organized and focused, ensuring quick service and high-quality food preparation.
• Perform regular stock checks and assist in inventory management to ensure proper food levels and avoid shortages.
• Follow food safety guidelines and maintain high sanitation standards to ensure a clean and safe working environment.
• Take initiative and be open to cross-training in front-of-house duties, gaining new skills and increasing potential for pay and growth.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the kitchen management team to support overall restaurant operations.

Experience

• Experience for FOH or BOH roles is recommended but certainly not required, as the Mary Jane's Kitchen operation is very simple to run and understand. Adequate training will be provided for all Associates to become efficient and productive crew members.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 10 – 25 per week

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 12 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed

Ability to Commute:

• Reading, PA 19610 (Required)
