Summary
Are you a passionate and committed Early Educator looking to work with infants, toddlers, or preschoolers? We are seeking a dynamic teacher to be part of our early childhood program with the age group that fits them best!
Position responsibilities include working as part of a team, curriculum planning and implementation, collaboration with families and agencies, and supporting children's learning. Mary Johnson Children's Center programs support the importance of learning through play; programs evolve depending on the interests of children, teachers, and families. We believe that all families are experts on their children and want what is best for them. Background or experience in Early Childhood preferred.
Duties
- Implement curriculum in response to observations of children, using the Cycle of Inquiry
- Provide for the social, cognitive and emotional growth of children
- Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences
- Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met along with your teaching team
- Ensure a healthy classroom environment for the children and teammates
- Engage in professional development to ensure continuous quality improvement
Requirements
- Experience and training in early childhood education along with a demonstrated interest in and knowledge of young children, energy, and enthusiasm.
- Strong communication skills and basic computer skills
- High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment
- A strong understanding of child development
- Must clear full background check complete required trainings.
- Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, stand, sit or kneel for extended periods, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, lift up to 50 lbs, work indoors and outdoors year round, and talk to and hear voices at many levels.
