With guidance and direction from the Sr. Analyst, contributes to the responsibilities for the monthly operational business and commission, bonus and contest reporting of independent National Sales Directors (NSDs). This includes pulling data, reviewing to ensure calculations are accurate. Partners with the IST department with new report requests, testing and implementation. Supports company special events by compiling, reviewing and analyzing data on all accolades, creating introductions and ensuring accurate titles, commissions and contest achievements for stage and printed recognition. Assists in creating detailed analysis and forecasting of potential new compensation plans, NSD contests, bonuses, trip qualifications, realignment possibilities, etc. Provides NSD perspective and explanation of policies, guidelines and programs to IST at it pertains to development and enhancement of reports. Supports the Communications department by proofing all monthly publications and on-line recognition categories.
· Monthly Operational Business: Partners with Sr. Analyst with compiling and providing data that tracks and monitors Independent National Sales Director activity, income, comparisons from previous year income, trips, bonuses, etc. to support operational business decisions. Demonstrates analytical and problem-solving skills in responding to routine NSD issues relating to account and/or career path discrepancies/adjustments. Duties involve pulling data from various systems (Cognos, front office, legacy systems) and sources, reviewing data and testing for accuracy and formatting data in simplified reports and ranking charts for cross functional teams including, Finance, Tax and Legal. Solid understanding of the NSD compensation plan, including how it relates to the separate international aspects of an Independent National Sales Directors business to support reporting requirements. Assists with calculating NSD compensation to confirm accuracy of reports pulled. Assists with training various internal business partners, including Legal, Tax, Finance and Team US Leadership, on NSD career path, compensation, commission structure, ranking, contests, bonuses and new NSD programs.
· Responds to ad-hoc requests with guidance regarding detailed analysis of compensation/contest/bonus/realignment changes: Makes recommendations and helps implement solutions related to events, contest tracking, commission reporting, realignment of Seminar affiliations, etc. Responds to NSD and employee requests for customized, strategic information through the design and creation of reports (hard copy and on-line) to provide needed data. Provides guidance to departments across the Company regarding NSDs’ independent business activities. Helps educate NSDs on how to utilize the reports to identify opportunities to increase commissions or to attain benchmark goals and/or to move to the next level.
· Informs and Educates NSDs on new reports/contest tracking/system glitches: Partners with Sr. Analyst to create articles to educate Independent National Sales Directors and explain new reporting capabilities, system enhancements or to explain system glitches or reporting errors as needed throughout the year. Coordinates and assists with training conference calls with new and established NSDs upon request to help them navigate Mary Kay InTouch. Responds to inquiries from Independent National Sales Directors to explain reports or on-line reporting features. Responds to requests for customized, strategic information through the design and creation of reports to ensure each NSD has the data required to motivate, teach and recognize her area. Determines when data requested by NSDs warrant special projects, enhancements or will require on-line consistent reporting for all. With guidance, works with IST to ensure useful, timely and relevant information is implemented to the NSDs via My Business on InTouch.
o Works on on-going tasks throughout the year related to Emeriti and NSD processes/programs. Including but not limited to: Creating SOPs for all job functions, entering data for 1099 and company reporting, proofing publications for NSD data, reviewing and responding to NSD feedback, sending emails, etc.
· Special Event Support:
o Provides the Special Events department with all NSD related accolades, titles, bonus amounts, commission earnings, area growth and offspring-oriented statistics for every special event with guidance – including but not limited to NSD annual trip, NSD Scholar week, Legacy Weekend, Leadership, Career Conference and Seminar. In addition, routinely provides highlights for other departments and President U.S. for retreats and guest appearances.
o Creates NSD Seating Charts, Backstage Announce Intro’s for NSDs, NSD Lineup for Intro’s, orders and maintains all NSD and Emeriti reserved seat covers. At Company events, over the NSD Suite ordering supplies, packing up, setting up, suite announcement monitor, ensuring NSD event team has NSD photos, and clear direction on anything related to badging, headsets, and event information, etc.
· This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education – Bachelor’s degree in Business Management or equivalent experience
Experience – 1 years experience with Business Analysis
· Attention to detail and focus on accuracy is critical as errors can result in excess company expenditures. Must display a proven record of comprehending and organizing a project and be able to create a display of the data in a user friendly fashion. |
· Demonstrate the ability to quickly learn the structure and commission schedules for the independent sales force. The NSD commission, Family Security Plan, etc. are intricate plans to which a small change could have large positive and/or unintended effects. |
· Must be able to learn how to determine NSD needs based on information gathered in meetings about new contests, new commission structures, etc., including requested, implied and unrealized needs. |
· Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills to form partnerships with the National Sales Directors and members of other internal teams. |
· Intermediate math and algebra skills are required to analyze NSD compensation or to suggest new compensation plans. |
· Requires a moderate level of proficiency in Excel in order to create and use formulas, links, graphs, embedding, “if” statements and logic. Must be able to create documents and presentations in Word and PowerPoint. |
· Must be assertive, self-motivated and results oriented to effectively manage projects and complete tasks without supervision. Must be able to assume all aspects of a project with little tactical direction. |
· Must have a high level of autonomy to perform duties and meet crucial deadlines. |
· Requires excellent customer service skills, tact diplomacy and a high level of professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with internal staff and NSDs. |
· Must have excellent interpersonal and written communication skills in order to coordinate activities and resolve problems with NSDs and to communicate with all levels of management and with other departments. |
