Job Summary
Under general supervision and through the utilization of Mary Kay Inc.’s Business Systems (WMS/JDE/JDA), analyzes and schedules production activities, material, equipment, etc. for a limited number of SKUs to meet market demand for finished product which directly impacts cost, quality, and customer service.
Schedule
Monday – Friday, 7:00 A.M. – 4:00 P.M.
Responsibilities
• Under general supervision reviews master production schedule, critical inventory report, promotional item requirements, desired service levels, equipment, and staffing, to create a detailed production schedule to meet desired inventory levels. Schedules manufacturing operations to effectively and efficiently meet the requirements and priorities specified during the master scheduling process.
• Under general supervision communicates directly with Mary Kay Manufacturing Operations team members for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas to schedule equipment and manpower; Engineering to schedule equipment testing, sanitation schedules, and capacity; Central Weigh to establish batch issue and pre-weigh schedules; Material Planning to verify ingredient and component availability; Inventory Control to resolve inventory discrepancies; and Quality Control Receiving Inspection for material release priorities. Meets with Operations team members for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas when they discuss delivery, performance or quality issues.
• Revises assigned schedules as needed for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas to accommodate changes in execution. Analyzes deviations from production standards and discrepancies in batch yields for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas. Resolves discrepancies between Mary Kay production records and the schedule. Works with the Operations team members for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas to expedite production to meet increasing or earlier than expected production demands. Elevates any Operations, Quality or customer service issues to Mary Kay management immediately.
• Adds promotional and new products and packages to regularly scheduled requirements for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas. Phases out discontinued products and packages to minimize obsolescence costs.
• Works with Supervisor to establish scheduling strategies, to receive authorization on matters outside of guidelines, and to receive guidance and direction in the scheduling of overtime.
• Coordinates work order or job initiations to meet established customer service measures for assigned production lines, manufacturing cells, or areas. Working with direct supervision, identifies opportunities to reduce costs by reviewing the run rates, changeover times, etc. and makes sure these values are reflected in Planning systems.
• Monitors and audits BOMs for their specific SKUs to assure accuracy.
• This job requires on-site work at a Mary Kay facility.
Skills & Experience
Experience: 1-3 years of experience working in an Inventory Control, Materials, Purchasing, or Production Planning environment.
Education: Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management or Logistics, or equivalent work experience
Additional Skills & Abilities
• Proficient in the use of ERP Software, such as Mary Kay Inc.’s Business Systems (WMS/JDE) or SAP; must be able to navigate functional applications, interpret signals accurately, and make sound business decisions based on the data. Must have intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel to understand and analyze department system reports and interface the data with Purchase Order and MRP signals.
• Must communicate in a professional, accurate, concise, and prompt manner with internal and external customers; must demonstrate effective communication to upper management as well.

• Must demonstrate a beginning proficiency in Microsoft Excel to interface reports, purchase orders, and supply evaluations with system outputs.
• APICS certification or active effort toward certification preferred.
