Nature & Scope : Positional Overview
Mary Kraft is seeking a detail-oriented Workers' Compensation Claims Examiner with 3 years of experience managing lost-time and litigated claims in North Carolina (NC) and South Carolina (SC) . The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of NC workers' compensation laws, rules, and form filing requirements . This role requires strong analytical skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment , and proficiency in claims processing systems.

Tasks That Will Lead To Your Success
- Analyze and process complex or high-exposure workers' compensation claims.
- Conduct thorough investigations by gathering critical information, including medical reports, employer statements, and witness testimonies.
- Develop and execute action plans to ensure timely and efficient claim resolution.
- Establish, monitor, and adjust claim reserves as necessary.
- Calculate and process benefit payments, claim settlements, and adjustments in accordance with company policies and state regulations.
- Manage litigated claims, coordinating with attorneys and legal teams for effective resolution.
- Prepare and submit state filings within statutory deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with North Carolina (NC) and South Carolina (SC) workers' compensation laws.
- Handle subrogation, Second Injury Fund excess recoveries, and Social Security / Medicare offsets when applicable.
