Nature & Scope : Positional Overview
Mary Kraft is seeking an experienced Workers Compensation Claims Examiner to manage complex and high-exposure workers' compensation claims. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, as this role requires regular interaction with clients. The examiner will ensure timely and accurate adjudication of claims while adhering to industry best practices and client service requirements.

- Analyze and process complex or technically difficult workers' compensation claims.
- Investigate claims, determine exposure, and develop action plans for resolution.
- Negotiate and settle claims within designated authority levels.
- Assign, manage, and adjust reserves throughout the claim lifecycle.
- Calculate and process benefits, ensuring timely claim payments and adjustments.
- Prepare and submit necessary state filings within statutory guidelines.
- Manage litigation processes to ensure cost-effective claims resolution.
- Coordinate vendor referrals for investigations and litigation support.
- Utilize cost-containment techniques to minimize claim costs for clients.
- Handle claim recoveries, including subrogation and Second Injury Fund excess recoveries.
- Report claims to excess carriers and respond to their requests professionally and timely.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with claimants and clients.
- Ensure claim files are properly documented and coded correctly.
- Refer complex cases to supervisors and management as necessary.
