What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant position at Mary Lee Foundation?
As an Occupational Therapy Assistant , you will carry out individualized therapy programs including, treatment, planning, implementation, education, and communication to maximize a patient's progress toward achieving functional goals. This role in particular is to serve the Intermediate Care Facility (ICF) for individuals with IDD for home management, self-care, environmental modification. Work closing with ICF case managers and direct care staff on patient adaptive aids, personal items, environmental mods needed.
Responsibilities
- Follow OT plan of care in an Outpatient setting alongside ST, PT, and OT
- You will coordinate the treatment program with other clinical / therapeutic services.
- You will communicate and develop with OTR / L comprehensive goals for treatment to maximize patient outcomes.
- You will deliver care and modify the care plan with OTR / L in accordance with the patient's needs.
- You will serve as an educator to patients, families, students and colleagues.
- Maintain daily notes and progress notes for individual therapy services as needed by funding sources such as state agencies and insurance companies including Medicare Part B.
- Work with varied diagnoses including IDD, brain injury, stroke, CP, cognitive impairment, ADL dysfunction, autism
- Be able to provide therapy in a clinic setting, ICF, adult day hab setting, and onsite affordable housing apartments
- Provide training to direct care staff with our sister IDD program Southpointe regarding strategies that the client has learned and protocols concerning FM skills, ADL participation, mobility, etc.
- Responsibilities are not limited to the above list and may include other duties as deemed necessary by supervisor.
