Job Summary -
Assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of the hospital in good repair and order. Minor electrical work, mechanical repairs and other duties relating to maintenance are the primary duties.
Regulatory Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- High school vocational training or technical school is preferred.
- Previous general maintenance experience is required, facility maintenance preferred.
Language Skills
- Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Additional languages preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Skills
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divided in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to recognize safety procedures related to equipment repair.
- Ability to read blue prints.
