Infant Room Teacher

Full-time 9:30 am-6:00 pm
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Infant Room Teacher to join our early childhood education team. The ideal candidate will possess a nurturing spirit, a strong understanding of infant development, and the ability to create a safe, stimulating, and caring environment for infants aged 6 weeks to 12months. The Infant Room Teacher will implement developmentally appropriate activities, foster secure attachments, and support the overall growth and well-being of each child.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. **Child-Centered Care:**
- Nurture and care for infants in a safe, clean, and engaging environment.
- Build trusting relationships with each child, ensuring they feel secure and loved.
- Provide individual attention to each infant’s needs, including feeding, diapering, and calming.
2. **Curriculum Development:**
- Implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that promotes cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.
- Plan and facilitate activities that encourage exploration, sensory development, and fine and gross motor skills.
- Adapt activities based on individual children’s developmental stages and interests.
3. **Communication:**
- Maintain open communication with parents regarding their child’s progress, daily activities, and any concerns.
- Document and communicate milestones and significant achievements for each child.
4. **Health and Safety:**
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
- Perform regular health checks and maintain proper hygiene practices to prevent illness.
5. **Collaboration:**
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to create a cohesive educational experience.
- Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities.
6. **Observation and Assessment:**
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor each child's development and progress.
- Utilize observations to inform curriculum adjustments and strategies that meet the needs of each infant.
**Qualifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
- Previous experience working with infants in a childcare, preschool, or similar setting.
- Knowledge of early childhood development principles and best practices.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children.
