Description
The Donor Events Manager reports to the Director of Donor Events and Volunteer Engagement as part of the Donor Events and Volunteer Engagement Team and is part of the fast-paced development team responsible for securing over $21 million from private and government support annually. This person will be responsible for creating, coordinating, and executing year-round fundraising and stewardship events for Mary’s Place.
The Donor Events Manager is accountable for personal goals and metrics set before each fiscal year starts. They will participate in ongoing and regular assessment of progress toward these goals with the supervisor.
The Donor Events Manager actively engages in Mary’s Place racial equity work – striving for racially equitable outcomes and taking responsibility for creating, maintaining, and affirming communities for people of color, immigrants, and refugees, trans and gender-non-conforming people, and other populations who routinely encounter systemic oppressions.
This is a full-time, exempt position requiring extended hours, with flexibility to work some evenings and weekends as needed (depending on events, etc.). The regular schedule is Monday - Friday and daytime work hours. This is a hybrid role requiring both in-person and remote work and is based in downtown Seattle at our administrative offices. The annual salary is $82K - $88K.
Key Responsibilities
· Manage execution and planning of all donor engagement events, including fundraisers, lunch and learns, tours, and other one-off events that will be utilized by all fundraisers
· Oversee procurement of donations and redemption of tangible items (auction purchases, prizes, etc.) purchases
· Provide direction to Development Administrative Coordinator with tasks pertaining to event registration, management of events@ inbox, and tracking as needed
· Develop goals and objectives for each event that link to overarching Development strategic goals
· Partner with the Corporate Relations Team to provide oversight of the development of each event’s sponsorship plan. Ensure all stewardship of sponsors happens as promised.
· Supervise and provide direction and oversight to staff and contractors working on events.
· Lead development of event concept, messaging, and fundraising goals, under the direction of the Director of Events and Volunteer Engagement.
· Maintain strict budget controls for all events and help ensure event revenue targets are met or exceeded.
· Provide post-event analysis to show changes or improvements in key fundraising and engagement metrics. Manage all income and expense reporting for each event and prepare qualitative and quantitative event analysis and recommendations, working with the Development Administrative Coordinator
· Work with event Co-Chairs, fundraising staff, and volunteers in planning, budgeting, and overall management of fundraising events.
· Serve as the primary resource in the coordination of event logistics for all cultivation, stewardship, and donor special events throughout the year
· Develop and maintain event software and databases and manage event registration
· Manage event logistics, including ticket sales, seating, check-out processes
· Support volunteers and donors with peer-to-peer giving, recruiting tables for events, and event volunteer activities in alignment with the strategy set forth by the Director, Donor Events & Volunteer Engagement
· Work with the Communications team to develop event materials and promotional activities
Requirements
Skills/Qualifications
· Experience in fundraising, specifically with special events
· Experience with online fundraising through social media, crowdfunding, team fundraising and the like is a plus.
· Strong interpersonal and networking skills with large groups as well as individuals.
· Demonstrated experience working directly with donors, prospective donors, high-level volunteers, and members of the community to cultivate, solicit and steward their contributions to the organization.
· Self-motivation and discipline to regularly set and achieve organizational and personal goals.
· Ability to maintain a high level of poise and professionalism in all circumstances.
· Ability to initiate and build relationships with donors and interact via telephone and in person with institutional representatives.
· Demonstrated ability to take primary responsibility for diverse number of projects and to complete them in a timely manner with limited supervision.
· Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Experience with Greater Giving highly encouraged
· Must have valid driver’s license, reliable access to a car, and proof of car insurance.
