The Mary T Family of Companies is hiring for a full-time RN Nurse Manager to oversee our nursing team in our supportive living division of care!
With 33 group homes located throughout the Twin Cities, The Mary T Family of Companies is a leader in quality care for individuals with disabilities. The Nurse Manager is accountable for the 24 hour delivery of care consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of The Mary T Family of Companies and the professional license holder. The Nurse Manager utilizes principles of management and the nursing process to achieve optimal care. Primary functions are to supervise, instruct and guide licensed practical nursing (LPN) staff and direct support professionals (DSPs) to provide high quality nursing and health care to the clients of The Mary T Family of Companies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC JOB DUTIES
- Provides leadership to licensed practical nurses through establishing professional and clinical performance goals as appropriate. Assists in staff meetings and appropriate training as required.
- Ensures that licensed practical nurses and direct support professionals are well-trained, effective, and optimally used in medical and health needs situations.
- Conducts performance appraisals to assigned licensed practical nurses as required. Formulates and implements corrective actions as necessary.
- Identifies learning needs of direct support professionals. Consults with licensed practical nurses and supportive living managers to understand the training needs for the programs. Works with training and organization development department on training content and resources.
- Provides home specific medical equipment and medication administration training to direct support professionals and/or delegates these tasks to licensed practical nurses. May create training programs and materials in compliance with company regulations and professional policy and procedures.
- Maintains training records as required.
- Stays knowledgeable of community training resources and refers licensed practical nurses and direct support professionals as appropriate.
- Assesses appropriateness of referrals and coordinates admissions in conjunction with supportive living management staff.
- Conducts nursing, psychosocial, and functional assessments to determine client needs.
- Oversees the development of care plans for clients, ensuring that nursing staff incorporates therapeutic, preventive, and palliative nursing actions, and specifically addresses client and staff education. Evaluates and updates care plans as goals and objectives are achieved or changed.
- Assures licensed practical nursing staff are initiating and maintaining liaison relationships with healthcare providers, and consults with the client, direct support professionals, physicians, and interdisciplinary team when initiating care and when significant changes in care needs occur.
- May participate in interdisciplinary care conferences and special case conferences. Maintains productive and professional relations with physicians and external support agencies.
- Oversees demission, readmission, and discharges as appropriate.
- Ensures that all licensed practical nurses and direct support professionals are documenting accurately and appropriately in clinical records and is completed in a timely manner.
- Ensures all documentation for medications is maintained and that licensed practical nurses monitoring medication effectiveness and/or side effects as appropriate.
- Assumes responsibility for professional development and staying abreast of current trends in the healthcare field. Incorporates new information and methods into practice.
Schedule: Monday - Friday from 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM OR 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM, with on-call support for LPNs as needed.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION
EDUCATION:
- Minimum of Associate's Degree from an approved nursing program
CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:
- Active RN License in good-standing with the State of MN
- CPR Certificate
- Valid driver’s license
EXPERIENCE:
- 2 years of group home nursing experience
- 1 year of nursing supervisory experience, preferred
