What are the responsibilities and job description for the Inventory Control Clerk position at MaryAnns Baking Company?
Monitors and maintains inventory levels. Process and tracks purchase orders and changes. Performs cycle counts and records results. Compiles inventory information such as consumption rate, characteristics, value, and stock on hand to determine stock supply and need for replenishment. Inputs data and generates audit reports
Role and Responsibilities
- Ensures work areas are safe from hazards, participated in safety discussions, weekly safety talks and follows safety practices and policies.
- Helps promote a safe workplace through observation, action and participation. Actively communicates with peers to promote a safe work environment.
- Tracks inventory flow through the organization, including receiving, put away, storage and picks.
- Perform incremental and physical inventory counts.
- Identify obsolete/damaged/slow moving inventory.
- Implement counting methodologies in production to improve inventory tracking and valuation.
- Record daily consumption of production materials in the ERP system.
- Maintain raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventories, both on and off-site.
- Report any shortages on planning and scheduling orders as they are identified.
- Ensure that all lot numbers are correctly recorded on Shipping & Receiving paperwork and in the ERP system.
- Ensure that the FIFO ingredient rotation procedure is being adhered to by the loaders.
- Assist the Compliance department in the preparation and completion of third-party audits and inspections.
- Cover for similar positions in department when needed due to labor issues.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- High School Diploma
- 2 years’ experience in a related inventory control role
- Understands and can conduct Cycle counting activities.
- Prior experience and usage of Inventory Control Software/ERP systems.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook and the ability to learn new platforms
- Effective and accurate data entry skills.
- Ability to effectively plan, organize, prioritize work and show a bias towards action.
- Ability to think strategically.
- Self-directed with the ability to work independently as well as with groups.
- Strong quantitative and interpersonal skills
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Preferred Skills
- Associate’s degree in business or related field.
- Experience with Microsoft Business Central preferred.
