What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dietary Aide position at Marycrest Manor?
Marycrest Manor is seeking a dedicated and reliable Dietary Aide to join our team. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a crucial role in assisting with food preparation and ensuring the nutritional needs of our residents are met. Responsibilities:
- Preparation and service of cold / hot food items and condiments for mealtimes and snacks according to quantities written on the “Daily Production List”.
- Contribute to efficiency of tray line assembly. Focuses on presentation of patient trays including meal accuracy, meal temperature, meal presentation and timely tray delivery.
- Making of sandwiches as needed and fulfilling other resident requests in compliance with their documented diet.
- Responsible for resident satisfaction during assigned shift. Includes responding to resident requests in between mealtimes.
- Distribute and collect resident menus in a timely manner. Assist residents with selection when needed.
- Using all stored food items according to FIFO method.
- Cleaning of all equipment and storage areas related to food preparation area according to established procedures and Serve Safe guidelines.
- Assist with resident ware washing as needed. Midday and P.M. shift responsible for resident ware washing after dinner.
- Midday and P.M. shift perform final kitchen clean and mop for the day.
Teamwork and Communication
- Read and follow through on all posted notices, policies, and procedures that pertain to assigned position(s)
- Assists other team members when necessary. Asks for help when necessary.
- Assist management in any way conducive to efficient operation and good team morale of the dietary department.
- Effectively communicate product and equipment issues to management in a timely manner.
- Adhere to professional dress code that reflects the mission of Marycrest Manor with excellent grooming and appearance.
- Follow all guidelines in the handbook and policies, as well as all safety procedures established by Marycrest Manor
- Responsible for knowing schedule and checking out with management before leaving.
- Attend all in-services, meetings and other training required by this position
Qualifications:
- Minimum of High School Degree or equivalent
- At least 18 years of age
- Read, write, speak and understand English at a high school level.
- Required to obtain a food handler card within 30 days of date of hire.
- Availability to work weekends and holidays.
- Interpret menu and perform basic math.
