Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED
- Valid NYS driver's license
- Minimum of 1 year experience with the Intellectually Disabled/Developmentally Disabled population
Schedule:
Sunday through Thursday 1pm - 8pm with flexibility. On Call responsibilities on the days scheduled to work.
Job Summary:
Assistant Residential Managers work cooperatively with the site manager to oversee the day to day operation of the residence in accordance with regulatory requirements, agency policy and quality program standards. The Assistant Manager encourages the development of independence, individualization, integration and productivity of the residents. Assists the Residential Manager in supervision of staff, including scheduling and training.
Essential Functions:
- Supervises residence staff.
- Participates in hiring, evaluation, and corrective discipline and termination process in conjunction with the house manager.
- Assists manager with on-site training for staff and ensures attendance to in-servicing as required.
- Assists manager in ensuring appropriate staffing at all times.
- Assists in the completion of monthly responsibility list, which includes, but is not limited to, fire drills, staff schedules, medication sheets and financial ledgers.
- Schedules and coordinates recreational activities specific to the resident individual needs.
- Ensures that the individual’s medical needs are met in conjunction with program nurse.
- Participates in the development of nutritious menu plans incorporating resident choice and dietary needs.
- Maintains adequate food supply and oversees food preparation.
- Assists in ADL instruction and participates in daily programming including morning care.
- Drives agency vehicle; provides transportation as needed (i.e., Dr.’s appointments).
