Position Description
We are seeking enthusiastic, customer service-oriented individuals to be the friendly face of Maryhill Museum of Art in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge!As a Visitor Services and Sales Associate, you’ll greet and admit guests, answer questions about upcoming events, and process purchases from the Museum Store, all while creating a warm and welcoming experience.
This part-time, seasonal role is perfect for someone who loves engaging with people, has a knack for handling transactions, and thrives on sharing the wonders of art and history. Join our dedicated team and help ignite curiosity and inspiration in everyone who walks through our doors.
Experience with cash-handling, some familiarity with computers, and customer service work is desirable. We will train the right person. Applicants must be available to work peak visitation days, which include weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings. The position is part-time seasonal work with the potential for rehire in the following seasons.

Compensation: $17.00 per hour
Summary
The Visitor Services and Sales Associate provides outstanding service and plays an important role in contributing to the mission of Maryhill Museum of Art. The position is flexible and accommodates ever-changing business needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Creates outstanding visitor interactions with a visitor-friendly, professional demeanor.
- Open/Close museum store and front desk/admissions including daily cash count.
- Processes sales transactions including admission, membership, donations, gift shop retail purchases, and other miscellaneous items.
- Follows Museum and department cash handling and reconciliation procedures.
- Assists with merchandise display and inventory management.
- Answers a variety of general queries including wayfinding, schedules, facilities, collections, etc.
- Answers calls to the museum to take messages or forward the caller to the appropriate staff member.
- Promotes a safe and sanitary work environment at all times.
- Practices safe work habits, participates in sanitation procedures, and reports hazards.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualifications

· Must be dependable and report on days assigned at the proper time.
· Must be 16 or older with high school diploma/equivalent experience (Diploma requirement is waived for applicants currently enrolled in high school).
· Possesses good verbal communication skills and basic math skills.
· Must be able to operate a personnel computer or point of sales system.
· Excellent customer service skills.
· This position requires standing, some walking, lifting (25lbs), carrying, reaching, handling, speaking, hearing, seeing, and repetitive motions.
· Work is primarily performed in a setting with moderate to light noise.
