Contract Period: 3 months

The purpose of this contract is to engage a highly skilled contractor with expertise in curriculum design and development to create a comprehensive curriculum focused on fostering a trauma-resilient community culture and enhancing organizational health. The curriculum will prioritize emotional safety, mutual support, and collaboration, equipping community members, staff, families, and youth with essential skills to recognize, respond to, and support themselves and others in building resilience and support networks. This individual will collaborate with other sector experts in trauma-informed care, organizational health, community building, violence prevention, and suicide prevention to design this curriculum.

The Contractor will perform the following tasks to develop a structured 2-tier training curriculum:

Design a 2-tier training model with detailed, actionable learning outcomes:

  • Tier 1: Advanced training for organizational leaders who are responsible for implementing, modeling, and sustaining trauma-informed practices. This will focus on leadership and organizational strategies for fostering resilience, psychological safety, and healing in a professional setting.
  • Tier 2: Foundational training for all other participants (community members, families, youth, and staff), focusing on fundamental concepts of trauma awareness, resilience-building strategies, and the importance of emotional and physical safety within communities.

Experts Will Have Knowledge In

  • Trauma-Informed Care:
    • Understanding the principles and practices of trauma-informed care.
    • Developing curricula that incorporate trauma awareness and sensitivity.
    • Organizational Health:

    • Enhancing organizational resilience and psychological safety.
    • Designing training programs that support organizational well-being.
    • Curriculum Development:

    • Creating structured, tiered training models with clear learning outcomes.
    • Designing engaging and interactive training materials.
    • Integrating culturally relevant frameworks and strategies.
    • Community Building:

    • Fostering collaboration and mutual support within communities.
    • Developing programs that build resilience and support networks.
    • Addressing the specific needs of diverse community demographics.
    • Violence Prevention:

    • Understanding the root causes and systemic factors contributing to community and gun violence.
    • Developing proactive and reactive strategies for violence prevention.
    • Incorporating violence prevention into trauma-informed curricula.
    • Suicide Prevention:

    • Knowledge of effective suicide prevention strategies.
    • Design training that addresses the psychological impact of trauma and promotes mental health.
    • Integrating suicide prevention into broader community resilience efforts.

Scope Of Services

  • Collaborate with a team of experts to develop a comprehensive training model. Provide suggestions and planning for the development of guides, handouts, exercises, assessments, case studies, and multimedia content.
  • Design engaging and interactive content to ensure active participation and deep learning, including reflection activities, group exercises, and real-world applications of trauma-informed practices.
  • Advise on theoretical and practical models that support training model.
  • Integrate culturally relevant frameworks and strategies that resonate with the diverse demographics of the community.
  • Design systems to evaluate the success and impact of the training, including tracking participant progress, retention of knowledge, and changes in community behavior.

Evidence Of Qualifications Based On Scope

Curriculum Design -

  • Proven experience designing and developing comprehensive and hybrid training curricula for diverse populations.
  • Evidence of creating content that prioritized engagement, active learning, and measurable outcomes - such as, interactive exercises, assessments, reflection activities, and multimedia content
  • Strong ability to translate complex theories and concepts into actionable and accessible materials that resonate with a variety of learners.
  • Demonstrate expertise in culturally relevant and inclusive curriculum design that acknowledges identities, experiences, and needs of the participants.
  • Ability to integrate cultural intelligence and humility into the curriculum, ensuring that all learning materials reflect the values, beliefs, and lived experiences of participants from various backgrounds.
  • Experience building training evaluation systems, including retention of knowledge and long-term changes in community behavior.

The contractor shall be compensated at an (hourly based) rate for services rendered. The specific services and their corresponding rates are as follows: $81.25 per hour, not to exceed $650 per day.
