GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The High School Math Teacher collaborates in the effective operation of a Catholic education program by supporting the goals and spirit of Catholic education in general and the school programs in particular; ensuring an effective instructional program; continuing in professional growth; encouraging student educational growth.

III. PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
A. Teach Mathematics effectively. Deliver high-quality instruction in mathematics to students in grades 9-12, ensuring student success across a variety of mathematical disciplines, including Algebra, Calculus, Geometry, Statistics, and Data/Mathematics Modeling. Preparing course materials, working from existing curricular frameworks, texts, and assessments
B. Demonstrate strong subject knowledge. Maintain and apply a strong background in core mathematical areas and effectively integrate these subjects into the curriculum, providing a comprehensive and challenging learning experience for all students.
C. Foster a passion for Mathematics. Cultivate a genuine love and enthusiasm for mathematics among students, inspiring them to engage with and appreciate the subject.
D. Provide hands-on, project-based learning. Utilize project-based instructional methods to create a college-preparatory mathematics curriculum that is interactive, engaging, and accessible to all students. Encourage hands-on learning experiences to deepen understanding of mathematical concepts.
E. Implement NCTM Standards. Ensure all instructional practices are aligned with the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Standards, fostering a solid foundation in mathematical principles and problem-solving techniques.
F. Apply differentiated instruction. Design and implement differentiated and customized instructional strategies to support diverse student needs, including those with learning differences, ensuring all students can succeed in the mathematics curriculum.
G. Contribute to school community. Actively participate in and contribute to the broader school community, engaging in activities and initiatives outside of the classroom that support the overall culture and mission of the school.
H. Collaborate with colleagues. Engage in professional collaboration with colleagues to share resources, strategies, and best practices, fostering a team-oriented and supportive environment within the mathematics department and the school at large.
I. Conduct In-school tutoring of students during non-instructional time as needed
J. Provide on-campus supervision duties as assigned during the school day
K. Mentor to students as part of our Advisory Program
L. Participate in some aspect of the school's extracurricular life
IV. PROFESSIONAL GROWTH
A. Pursue professional growth, demonstrate a commitment to ongoing professional development in mathematics education, staying current with new teaching methods, technological tools, and curriculum developments to continuously improve teaching practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. (Master’s Degree preferred.)
B. 1-3 years of teaching experience in public, charter, parochial, or independent school (3-5 years preferred)
C. Experience in teaching AP Calculus and/or Computer Science is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, reach, sit, hear, handle, and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrists. Teachers must be able to stand and/or sit for extended periods. May need to climb stairs and lift, carry, push and/or pull items up to 50 pounds. Must be able to respond effectively to, and lead the class in emergency situations.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Work is usually performed in a classroom setting within the time frame established by the High School Dean. Employee is occasionally required to attend evening meetings and may oversee field trips and other special events.
SUPERVISION
Exercises working supervision over students as necessary.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $45,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
