Purpose of the Role: The Executive Assistant to the Clerk, SCM (Supreme Court of Maryland) assists the Clerk of Court and the Chief Deputy Clerk in the management of the Clerk?s office by preparing appropriate correspondence, scheduling meetings, arranging travel, and effectively communicating on behalf of the Clerk and Chief Deputy Clerk. Understands the overall operation of the Court and the office so as to provide appropriate guidance to staff and communication with the Justices, attorneys, and members of the public. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education: High school diploma (or GED equivalent).
Experience: Six (6) years of performing administrative or secretarial work in an Administrative, Executive, or Senior Management work environment.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of:
? Legal terminology and court procedures.
? General office practices, procedures, and equipment.
? Basic English and arithmetic to include, but not limited to, spelling, punctuation, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
? Judicial policies and procedures.
? Judiciary Human Resources policies and procedures.
? CourtSmart and Polycom equipment, and Zoom.
? AIS to assist in activities such as handling requests for certificates of good standing, copies of bar admission records, and copies of bar certificates, and assists with receiving and appropriately handling funds for these copies as required by law or verifying that funds have been received prior to providing requested documentation.
Skill in:
? Performing a variety of duties often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
? Typing on personal computer.

? Usage of standard office equipment, computer equipment, and computer applications.
? The use of Microsoft Office products to include, but not limited to, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
