Overview :

Audacy, a leading multi-platform audio content and entertainment company that engages 200 million consumers each month, is seeking an experienced, high-energy, high-achieving Director of Sales in Washington, DC.

Reporting to the Market Manager for Washington, DC, you’ll work alongside a team of passionate colleagues and with a high-achieving culture, committed to delivering results, marketing excellence and unwavering customer service. You will work cross-functionally with all Department Leads, and will be responsible for the successful achievement of the total sales goal in Washington, DC.

You must have experience in audio and a passion for music, digital media, podcasts and innovation. You will drive the revenue growth of our six (6) highly influential radio stations and Connecting Vets (digital platform) by increasing existing business and converting new business. You will also be responsible for pushing our podcast, streaming, mobile, digital, social, events and OTT sales forward.

What You'll Do :

  • Responsible for exceeding revenue objectives by impacting people (Sales Managers, Account Executives and clients).
  • Hold our sales team accountable to all priorities, managing through both internal direct reporting relationships and peer groups to drive results.
  • Develop, refine and maintain discipline on a focused overall sales strategy, with specific, measurable tactics and actions that generate sales & revenue.
  • Lead and train sales team in evolving media trends, including but not limited to digital audio, attribution, data, and digital.
  • Develop and grow relationships with clients through both individual and joint meetings with Account Executives, and develop a deep understanding of their needs in the marketplace.
  • Leverage our data, scale and resources to guide sound management and operational decision-making across the sales organization.
  • Create sales opportunities (audio, digital, experiential, etc.) that align with client needs and demand.
  • Own financial metrics of the department, including weekly revenue, pacing and forecasting.
  • Monitor competition and trends in the market.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required & Preferred :

  • You must be a Sales Leader and have the skill and drive to inspire in today’s changing environment, motivating a sales team to success and contributing innovative ideas to generate revenue.
  • You have a history of effectively leading a large sales organization and can recruit and retain top talent.
  • You must be goal-driven and creative, with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Additional Requirements :

  • 5 years Manager experience in media, preferably audio and digital.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship skills, including the ability to develop talent and build a high-performance culture across the organization.
  • Data and results-driven leader with a proven track record of leading a successful sales team through change and innovation.
  • Strong background in strategic account management, sales training / leadership, pricing and budgeting required.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal and organizational skills; high proficiency in Google Suite tools.
  • Experience effectively utilizing Salesforce to manage teams and forecasts.
  • High work intensity with the ability to manage various projects and products proactively, and deliver quality results on or before deadlines.
  • Exceptional presentation skills.
  • Highly skilled negotiator.
  • BS / BA Degree Preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license, satisfactory completion of a motor vehicle record check, and, if the position requires use of the applicant's own vehicle, proof of insurance, is required.
