The Maryland Transportation Authority owns, operates, and maintains eight major toll facilities comprised of four bridges, two tunnels, and two turnpikes, across the State of Maryland. Nature of Work: The E-ZPass Quality Assurance Specialist plans, coordinates, and conducts the quality assurance testing, evaluation, and reporting for the MDTA E-ZPass Program.  The incumbent in this position ensures compliance, standardization of training, policy adherence and revenue protection during the procurement, operations and maintenance phases of the tolling system, facilities, and equipment life cycles. Specific duties for the position include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Ensures training material is accurate and consistent with policy requirements for MDTA and customer service contractor, and technical support personnel;
  • Develops test criteria based on technical evaluations and performance history;
  • Prepares and conducts scheduled audits, failure analysis, and quality inspections to evaluate and enforce technical and performance specifications; and
  • Develops MDTA policies and ensures adherence to federal, state and MDTA guidelines as they relate to the operations of the MDTA and the goals and objectives of the E-ZPass Quality Assurance and Compliance Unit.

The employee in this position will receive direct supervision from the Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager. The current vacancy is in Baltimore, Maryland.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:  A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:  Five years of experience in administrative or professional work. **One year of this experience must have included planning and managing quality assurance tests related to revenue collection.

The ideal candidate will possess: 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access and PowerBI

1. Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.

2. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience. 

3. Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

4. Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
