What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medical Assistant position at Maryland ENT?
- The primary purpose of the Medical Assistant / MA is to help the providers with patient care and prepare exam rooms. This role will report to the Practice Administrator and be guided by the Office Nurse. This role will require travel between both offices- Lutherville and Johnston's Professional Building. Current Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT REQUIRED. Five years of Medical Assistant experience required. This position is paying $19-21/hr. or more depending on experience.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES of the Medical Assistant / MA
- The Medical Assistant / MA is responsible for assisting Physicians, Mid-Level Practitioners, and Registered Nurses with the evaluation, management, and treatment of patients in an ambulatory care setting.
- The Medical Assistant / MA assumes responsibility for maintaining patient flow, the upkeep of exam and treatment rooms, and performing basic skills such as review of systems and vital signs.
- The Medical Assistant / MA will prepare intramuscular injections, and over-the-counter medications under the direction of a Physician or Nurse.
- The Medical Assistant / MA must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 30 pounds.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS of the Medical Assistant / MA
- High School diploma or GED equivalent
- Five years of Medical Assistant experience required.
- ENT experience is preferred.
- Current CPR Certification required
- Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program required
- Minimum of two years clinical experience preferred
- Ability to work in a high stress, fast paced environment
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibility.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Current Medical Assistant Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA, or NCCT REQUIRED.
All employees are required to provide proof of vaccination or exemption.
WAGE
$19-21 per hour or more depending on experience.
