Job Description:
Maryland Environmental Service has an opening for a Utility Operator or Boiler Operator at our ECI Co-generation facility in Westover, MD. The Utility Operator position assists licensed plant operator(s) in the duties associated with the operation and maintenance of the automatic system controls of the power generating facility. The Boiler Operator position, under the direction of a licensed Grade 1 Maryland Licensed Stationary Engineer, monitors, operates controls and repairs machinery and equipment that is isolated from the Supervisor (i.e., turbogenerators, diesel generators and automatic switchgear).
Estimated Pay Range:
$48,301.85 - $80,361.47

Minimum Requirements:
Utility Operator: Graduation from high school or GED, plus 1 year experience in an industrial, construction or manufacturing environment. Graduation from High School with Vocational Certificate may be substituted for one year of experience. Must have a valid driver's license with less than 5 points. Within 2 years after appointment, must be able to pass a Maryland Department of Labor Licensing State Board of Stationary Engineers Grade 4 Stationary Engineer’s examination. Within 4 years after appointment must be able to pass a Maryland Department of Labor Licensing State Board of Stationary Engineers Grade 3 Stationary Engineer’s examination.
Boiler Operator: Graduation from an accredited High School or a GED equivalency plus three years experience in power plant or propulsion plant operation. Must have a valid driver's license, and must have a Second Grade Stationary Engineer’s license or higher.
