The Maryland Food Bank (MFB) is a nonprofit hunger-relief organization dedicated to feeding people, strengthening communities, and ending hunger for more Marylanders by partnering with local organizations from the western mountains to the Eastern Shore. The food bank’s statewide network of food assistance brings enough resources together to provide nearly 114,000 meals every day (more than 41 million meals annually) to hungry children, seniors, veterans, and hard-working families, meeting the immediate needs of hungry Marylanders while simultaneously working to create pathways out of hunger.

Overview:
This employee, under the Lead Transportation Supervisor, manages all facets of MFB’s Transportation department. Responsibilities include directing the routing system, overseeing route assignments, collaborating with Logistics, Warehouse, and Operations teams, maintaining fleet documentation, and training Drivers to meet MFB standards.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with the Operations department regarding deliveries, shuttles, pickups, and other related activities
- Assist in loading vehicles / Warehouse operations
- Oversees day-to-day Driver activities
- Handle incoming pick-up requests and resolve delivery or rescheduling issues
- Coordinate with MFB partners
- Drive routes in a commercial vehicle as required
- Optimize fleet use and driver activity on an ongoing basis
- Monitors daily staff hours and other payroll functions
- Manages driver Training & Compliance
- Handles fleet management administration activities
- Supports recruitment efforts
Education:
- High School or GED
Basic Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience supervising commercial deliveries including fleet management
- 2 years experience using Routing and Fleet systems
- A valid CDL Driver’s license
- MVR showing no prior DUI/DWIs and fewer than 2 points against the license
- The ability to read, write, and speak English
Preferred Qualifications:
- CDL A Drivers license

Salary range:
- $24.00 - $26.00 / per hour
Work environment:
The employee will carry out some of the job duties from a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures and the potential for loud noise and will carry out the rest of the job duties either inside a truck or outdoors at client sites. Temperatures and noise will fluctuate during this time as well.
