What You’ll Do
- Provide direct recovery support to individuals and their families, fostering resilience and empowerment.
- Facilitate peer and family group sessions, as well as one-on-one support, tailored to unique needs and recovery goals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive, holistic care for individuals and families.
- Develop and deliver recovery-focused workshops and educational sessions.
- Act as an advocate for peers and families within systems, ensuring their voices and needs are centered in planning and decision-making.
- Maintain accurate, timely records of support activities, ensuring compliance with program standards.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay informed about best practices in peer recovery and family support.
- Leverage internal resources and team collaboration to ensure the Recovery Specialist receives ongoing support and tools to succeed.
- Minimum of one year experience in recovery support, peer advocacy, or family support roles (required).
- Lived experience as an individual in recovery and/or as a family member impacted by recovery challenges (preferred).
- Certification in Peer Recovery, Family Support, or a related credential (strongly preferred).
- Strong ability to connect with peers and families from diverse backgrounds with empathy and understanding.
- Proven capacity to work both independently and collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides). Experience with Gmail for communication and scheduling.
