PERFORMANCE MANAGER
Position Summary
The Performance Manager (PM) will report to the Chief Performance Officer (CPO) and will be responsible for leading one or more teams collaboratively and efficiently toward achieving their objectives. This role will be pivotal in managing key cross-sector teams and initiatives, in the areas of workforce development, public health, education out of school time (OST), community leadership development, real estate development, and/or commercial & business development. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Reports to the Chief Performance Officer (CPO) to develop and implement performance management frameworks, tools, and processes that support team and organizational objectives.
- Facilitate regular and consistent team meetings, coordinate performance reviews with data analysts, program managers, and senior staff members to ensure team members are reporting on Key Performance Indicators, outcomes, and progress toward organizational, community and team goals.
- Monitor and report on team progress, identify successes and areas for improvement or supportive services, always fostering a culture of continuous quality improvement and team camaraderie.
- Identify and report on project risks and impediments that may jeopardize successful outcomes.
- Monitor team progress and help to remove any impediments to the team’s progress.
- Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and make recommendations as needed for data-driven solutions that enhance the team’s efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented work environment.
- Stay up to date on best practices in performance management and continuously assess processes to improve performance, meet deadlines, or infuse innovations., where applicable.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the respective team members, potential and existing partners, field performance management inquiries, and offer expert guidance and support to effectively cultivate team successes.
- Experience in one or more of the following sectors is a plus: workforce development, public health, education, community leadership development, real estate, and/or business development.
- Demonstrated experience managing or working within cross-functional or cross-sector teams and projects.
- Highly organized and adaptable project leader.
- Knowledge of project and process improvement methodologies and performance management systems, including high proficiency with Microsoft Excel and project management software
- Experience in Scrum, Project Management, Agile, Six Sigma or related practices and principles, with the ability to mentor and guide team members to impactful outcomes. Scrum Master certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts, lead problem-solving strategies, and keep team members productive and on task.
- Ability to draft written and verbal recommendations and presentations to diverse audiences in a clear and actionable manner.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while driving results, establishing and meeting deadlines.
- A combination of experience and education will be evaluated to determine the qualified candidate. Experience in public sector management, project management, performance management, and/or related fields are highly desirable.
- At least 2 years of experience supervising or managing team projects are required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Scrum Master Certification is highly preferred. A combination of education and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of certification, but candidates without certification must commit to obtaining a Scrum Master certification within 90 days of hire.
