Education: A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

Experience: Ten years of experience in State or federal budget, finance, policy, and accountability.

Notes: Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in a field related to the position for two years of the required experience.

Preference will be given to applicants who possess the following preferred qualification(s). Include clear and specific information on your application regarding your qualifications.

  • Experience working with the enterprise level finance, budget, and procurement systems.
  • Tailoring communication of complex information for various audiences
  • Experience with managing, designing, and developing financial control systems for multiple programs.
  • Finance experience in a Maryland State Agency.
  • Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets and other analytical tools.
  • Ability to effectively lead as well as supervise and train staff, manage projects, monitor performance, and provide timely feedback.
  • Experience in Education Finance and the Blueprint for Maryland's Future.
