First Robotics Club Advisor (Supplemental Position)

** This is a supplemental position - it is not a fulltime position**

REPORTS TO:

ECHS/MHS Principal

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:

Supplemental

POSITION SUMMARY:

Coordinate and supervise the activities of the High School Robotics club.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Act as liaison between the team and the district.
• Work with the volunteer engineers to coordinate goals and guide students in an assortment of projects and activities to be completed during club meetings.
• Create team membership policy and guidelines (attendance, seniority, etc.)
• Supervise team meetings and competitions.
• Assist students with investigating sponsorship/grant opportunities to secure team funding.
• Record all finance/budgetary aspects (team credit card, etc.).

• Observe all safety and health regulations of the school district.
• Maintain an appropriate personal appearance.
• Work cooperatively with parents, volunteers, and other staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Employee of Early College High School or Marysville High School preferred.
• Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Proficiency in basic computer skills (email, spreadsheets, etc.)
• Volunteer engineers from Honda help with all the technical knowledge, so no prior knowledge of robotics is necessary
• Desire and ability to work with a group of high school students.
• Well developed organizational and problem solving skills.

• Computers, projectors, etc.
• Basic hand tools (drills, etc.)
• Heavy machinery: Bandsaw, Drillpress, air compressor (volunteer engineers assist with this)
• Bus/Van (competitions)

ADDITIONAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Potential exposure to blood or other bodily fluids and tissues.
• Regular requirement to stand, walk, sit, read, speak, hear, reach with hands and arms.
• Occasional requirements to lift, push, pull, and/or carry supplies and equipment up to 25 pounds.
