Maryvale Preparatory School is seeking a Long-Term Substitute Science Teacher for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year. This position is a full-time temporary position with potential for future full-time employment. The ideal candidate will have Upper School teaching experience and a strong academic record focusing on an inquiry-based approach. This position will report directly to the Upper School Head.

Responsibilities include:

· Teach Upper School Chemistry.

· Participate in the school community with other duties as assigned.

The ideal candidate will possess:

· Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Forensic Science, Biology, or related field required; Master’s Degree preferred; MSDE certification preferred

· Upper School experience preferred.

· Experience working in an independent school setting preferred

· Willingness to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, and parents

Additional Requirements:

· Subject to a criminal background check prior to employment

· Subject to a Child Protection Services screening prior to employment

· Subject to a MSDE Employment History Review screening for Child Sexual Abuse and Sexual Misconduct

Compensation for this position is $170.00 per day worked. This position is eligible for sick and safe leave benefits as well as a school dining benefit.
