About the Part-Time Graphic Designer Position
The Part-Time Graphic Designer position will report directly to the Social Media and Communications Manager. This position is 20 to 25 hours a week, with a schedule to be determined by the manager and chosen candidate. The primary function of the role is to create graphic designs and support the Communications team.
Functions of the Position Include but are not Limited to :
- Assist the communications department with all deliverables that include graphic design for flyers, brochures, posters, postcards, and other marketing materials.
- Support internal and external communications.
- Assist with developing and utilizing graphic design.
- Perform other duties as required.
Proficiency in Design Software
Expertise in tools like Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is essential. Experience in Canva is a plus.
Portfolio
A strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects is critical for demonstrating ability.
Understanding of Design Principles
Knowledge of typography, color theory, layout, and composition.
Web Design Skills
Familiarity with web design principles and tools can be a plus.
ExperiencePrevious Work Experience
Experience in freelance work or relevant projects can be valuable.
Industry Knowledge
Understanding of the specific industry or type of design (e.g., print, digital, branding) can be advantageous.
