Job Description:
This Special Education position will serve the school in multiple ways. The selected individual will serve as:
- a co-teacher in Cafe le Reve, providing behavioral and accommodation support for the school-based WBL site for our students with disabilities.
- a case manager, supporting/and guiding students, developing IEPs, and maintaining strong communication with other teachers
- be the teacher of record for other coursework, to include but not limited to Transition classes for students at a variety of levels.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a case manager, support/guide students, develop IEPs, and communicate effectively with all stakeholders
- Serve as a co-teacher in Cafe le Reve, providing behavioral and accommodation support for the school-based WBL site
- Plan with teachers to ensure consistent, strong classroom instruction and supports
- Track record of effective behavioral support for students in a classroom or business environment
- Work with administrators, instructional teams and support personnel to plan and implement programs and activities for students and the school community
- Utilize technology to create a blended instructional learning environment; identify unique needs of students and the tools to help them be successful
- Analyze student data on a consistent basis to meet the individual needs of students and deliver appropriate instruction
- Be an active member of the faculty and staff
- Create and maintain a positive classroom climate through effective classroom management; supervise the proper care of school property
- Be self-reflective by participating in personal professional growth activities to learn new skills and improve teaching
- Promote positive student, parent and community relationships through using effective written and oral communication
