What are the responsibilities and job description for the MJHS Competition Cheer Team Coach position at Maryville Junior High School?
The MJHS cheer team is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and positive competition skill coach to lead the cheer team. The desired qualities for the coach will include:
- Experience with cheer team, either sideline or competiton, required
- Prior experience coaching cheer teams, not required
- Working with skill coaches to determine logistics of practices and supporting their development/implementation of sideline and competition routines
- Willingness to serve and build relationships with student athletes
- Ability to teach and refine a foundational skill set in student athletes
- Communicate clearly with all stakeholders in a variety of formats
- Provide positive praise with support to develop a positive team culture and skills within each student athlete.
- Ability to work with Intermediate and High School programs to develop a unified programd and coaching staff across MCS
Duties will include:
- Develop and implement daily practice plans to meet the overall goals of the program.
- Break all routines into a practice schedule from a skill set standpoint that ensures reaching team goals (with the end in mind)
- Attend summer team and competition camps
- Attend coaching conferences with other staff
- Mandatory attendance at competition practices and skill practices
- Attendance at home football and basketball games required.
- Completing all coach trainings and requirements per TSSAA
