What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant, School of Education position at Marywood University?
The School of Education Administrative Assistant will provide clerical support for the department.
Duties will include the following tasks:
- Coordinate Acts 45 & 48 processing
- Coordinate medal selection process and honor society selection process
- Coordinate master’s level teacher candidacy process
- Coordinate school district evaluation of first year teachers (our alumni)
- Coordinate event planning (hooding, mock interview day, Dress for Success fundraiser, orientation, open houses, department retreats, speakers, events, department service)
- Coordination of outreach, recruitment events, and relationship building within school districts
- Management of the Curriculum Lab
- Management of work study students
- Management of department purchasing processes; assist Director in managing budget
- Coordinate adjunct hiring process (tracking paperwork for new hires, contracts, collection of syllabi)
- Update data bases: master schedule, master catalog, course waiting lists
- Various clerical tasks
ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
- Adept in technology/proficient in computer skills
- Working knowledge of Colleague and various required forms
- Working knowledge of report server and ability to generate appropriate reports for scheduling, budgeting per department and across College
- Collaborative work ethic
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Commitment to annual training and skills development
- Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to oversee multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Detail-oriented
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma with a commitment to ongoing learning is required.
- Experience as an Administrative Assistant or an Associate’s Degree is preferred.
Job Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 35 hours per week, 8:30am-4:30pm
