Assistant Track and Field Coach - Jumps

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform all coaching duties in the role as Assistant Coach (refer to Athletics Staff Handbook for responsibilities).
• Represent the Athletics and Recreation Department in an appropriate and professional manner at all times.
• Be knowledgeable about the NCAA Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA).
• Consistent communication with supervisors to inform of status, incidents and needs.
• Attendance at student-athlete seminars, annual coaching/educational clinic, annual orientation sessions and all athletic staff meetings throughout twelve months.
• Securement of Adult CPR Certification, First Aid and AED Certification (American Red Cross). The certifications must be on file prior to the first official practice, i.e. non-traditional seasons.

Minimum Qualifications:

• General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics
• Strong interpersonal, planning and organizational abilities
• Excellent oral and written communications skills.
• Competence with technology resources and a current driver’s license are vital to fulfilling the responsibilities of this position
• CPR, AED and First Aid Certifications.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree

The operation of vehicles and the transportation of athletes are duties that are required at various times. The selected employee must have a valid driver’s license issued in the United States and will be subject to a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) check.

Supervisors are responsible for maintaining an environment that is free from discrimination, intimidation, coercion or harassment, including sexual or gender harassment. Work is performed indoors and/or outdoors. The noise level is usually low to moderate. While performing the duties of this position, the employee may be required to travel and work nights and weekends.
