What are the responsibilities and job description for the Head Women's Flag Football Coach (Part time) position at Marywood University?
SUMMARY:
The Head Women’s Flag Football Coach is responsible for coaching the women’s flag football team. This position is part-time.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform all coaching duties in the role as head coach to include on field instruction, game management, recruiting, conditioning, academic monitoring, assistant coach selection/supervision, and sport camp development
- Be knowledgeable and supportive of compliance with policies and regulations of the University, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), the Atlantic East Conference, and other athletics related organizations to which the University belongs. Know and implement relevant NCAA and Atlantic East Conference policies/regulations
- Be knowledgeable about the annual NCAA Equity in Athletics Disclosure Act (EADA)
- Represent the Athletic Department and Marywood University in an appropriate and professional manner at all times
- Assists in the preparation and monitoring of department budgets
- Selects, supervises and manages assistant coach(es)

- Meet student athlete recruiting goals as established by the Director of Athletics and Recreation
- Development of and working with a budget
- Develop and implement a comprehensive training program to enhance players' skills, knowledge, and performance in flag football
- Strong knowledge of NCAA, Conference and Marywood University policies and procedures
- Consistent communication with supervisors to inform of status, incidents and needs
- Attendance at student-athlete seminars, annual coaching/educational clinic, annual orientation sessions and all athletic staff meetings throughout twelve months
- Monitor team fundraising account and ensure accurate coordination and reporting of funds usage and maintenance in accordance with university guidelines
- Develop and maintain alumni relations for the promotion of the program
- Represent the University and its athletics program, with honesty, integrity, and sportsmanship at all times, to various institutional programs and students, parents and families, the general public, alumni and external agencies
- Work with various departments and personnel at the university to aid in the development of a positive student-athlete experience
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics and Recreation
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
- Strong knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong collaboration with coaching staff and others through the Athletic Department and University
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- General knowledge of intercollegiate athletics
- Prior Coaching experience
- Competency with technology resources
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree
- 2 Years coaching experience
- Track record of coaching success at the high school/club level in girls flag football and the ability to recruit student-athletes to play at the collegiate level
ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS (certifications, etc.):
- FBI, Criminal Background and Child Abuse Clearances
- Van certification & Motor Vehicle Report (MVR)
- First Aid / CPR / AED certification
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Bending
- Sitting for several hours (at desk, on buses, in bleachers, in car, etc.)
- Lifting up to 50 lbs. independently
- Driving for several hours (recruiting)
WORK ENVIRONMENT/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be willing to work both in groups and in isolation
- Extensive work hours to include nights and weekends plus late evenings, early mornings and some holidays
- Travel is extensive between team competition and recruiting travel
- Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
