POSITION SUMMARY :
The Accountant is responsible for month-end procedures including journal entries, reconciliations and reporting analytics, customer rebate tracking and reporting, audit testing and documentation, as well as continuous improvement projects to streamline processes / procedures.
This is a hybrid position based out of Novi, MI.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Execute general ledger accounting and month-end accounting functions, including journal entries and analysis worksheets
- Support customer rebate programs including tracking, reporting, and preparing monthly accrual entries
- Participate in designing and implementing financial processes, controls, and enabling systems which will be critical to the future growth of the business
- Support the testing of controls to ensure consistent adherence of key controls is achieved and provide recommendations to business partners as needed.
- Identify, lead, or participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- Prepare monthly reports to meet the needs of business, senior management, and other internal customers
- Perform account fluctuations and trend analysis, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements
- Assist with governmental, tax and corporate reporting requirements
- Support monthly corporate reporting and analysis in Hyperion
- Participate in the corporate budgeting process as required
- Adhere to financial policies such as GAAP and SOX
- Perform other tasks and duties as assigned
