Scope
The Fabrication Operator is responsible for following the training parameters to become proficient in fabricating and assembling parts from extruded product to the customer's specifications using fixtures, hand tools, and power tools.
Qualifications
- Hand-eye coordination
- Basic math skills
- Prior manufacturing experience is preferred
- Ability to stand for up to long periods of time
Responsibilities
- Operate various heating, forming, splicing, and punching machines
- Perform general assembly as needed
- Make limited adjustments to equipment, as authorized
- Form plastic tubing using heat panels and ovens
- Cut plastic tubing to size using automated cutters per quality specifications
- Inspect product (using gauges/fixtures) for quality and conformance to specifications
- Prepare product for shipping, including assembling boxes, packing, and labeling product
- Responsible for accurate production reporting
- Keep equipment and work area clean
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to stand for 2-3 hours at a time.
- Must be able to periodically lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
- Must be able to twist, pull, push, and bend.
- Must be able to identify quality variances visually.
