What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tribal Member Benefits Coordinator position at Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation?
Under the direction of the Manager, Government Tribal Programs, the incumbent performs varied and highly confidential administrative duties. Types and transcribes request for information and independently composes correspondence. Compiles and maintains databases specific to program participants. Maintains and files confidential records. Assist with the procurement process, payroll administration and the schedule of business travel. Exposure to a broad range of complex and confidential matters requiring a high degree of discretionary judgment. Follows up with the Manager, Government Financial Programs on the status of department projects and compiles status reports. Administratively assists with office wide initiatives. Demonstrates an ability to work in a high-pressure environment requiring a frequent need to multi-tasks. High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of administrative experience required. Knowledge of Word and Excel. Experienced in using Windows software such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentation and graphics applications. Must be highly organized, detailed oriented, self-motivated, and independent thinker. Must be capable of project planning, multitasking, have strong writing skills and be able to exhibit tact and diplomacy in the face of opposition when dealing with sensitive and controversial subject matter. The ability to be a strong team player is highly desirable as well as experience in working with financial programs and services. A valid motor vehicle driver’s license is required.
