Associate Attorney Job Description:
Masis Professional Group has an immediate need for an Associate Attorney for a very well established and highly reputable law firm New York City area on a full-time direct hire basis. The ideal candidates will have experience in civil litigation and a demonstrated ability to independently move cases toward resolution or trial.
Associate Attorney Responsibilities:
- Drafting legal documents, including pleadings and motions
- Assisting with discovery, including drafting demands, analyzing responses and reviewing/digesting document productions
- Conducting Legal Research
- Working closely with other attorneys and Partners on legal projects and assignments
- Regularly handling court appearances and depositions
- Reporting to clients and carriers on the status of each matter
- Organizing and prioritizing workload
Associate Attorney Qualifications:
- Must have a JD from an accredited law school
- Seeking candidates that have 1-5 years of civil litigation experience primarily professional liability or defense within securities/FINRA work.
- FINRA experience a plus
- Must be admitted to practice in New York OR New York & New Jersey (or admitted in NY and able to waive into NJ)
- Court appearances and deposition experience required
- Experience drafting summary judgment motions and other dispositive motions
- Knowledge of federal and state rules of civil procedures
Salary : $100,000 - $140,000
