Human Resources Specialist

Masis Professional Group is assisting our client company in hiring a Part-Time HR Specialist (20 to 30 hours per week) with experience in background checks, HR compliance, and related issues. The position is HYBRID but you must be able to commute to the Westborough MA office for occasional onsite days.

Overview :

As a Part-Time HR Specialist, you will be responsible for reviewing and adjudicating background check reports, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and providing guidance to HR and hiring managers. Your expertise will help us maintain a safe and compliant workplace while upholding our commitment to fairness and transparency.

Salary : $29 per hour

Schedule : Hybrid; and flexible days / hours based on 20-30 hours per week (varies dependent on work volume)

Duties and Responsibilities :

• Review and analyze background check reports, including criminal history, employment verification, education verification, and credit history (as applicable).
• Collaborate with HR and hiring managers to make informed hiring decisions based on background check results.
• Adjudicate background check findings in accordance with company policies and legal requirements, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and Equal Employment Opportunity (EEOC) guidelines.
• Communicate with candidates regarding adverse findings and provide them with an opportunity to dispute or explain results.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of all background checks and adjudication decisions.
• Stay up-to-date on changes in employment laws and regulations related to background checks and hiring practices.
• Coordinate distribution of government-required posters to field locations to ensure compliance with employment laws, regulations and procedures.
• Assist in developing and updating company policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance.
• Provide other support as required to HR staff
