Location: Easthampton, MA

Job Type: 560 Hour Contract to Hire

Salary: $50,000 - $55,000 per year ($24 - $26 per hour)

Company Overview

A well-established manufacturing and distribution company in Easthampton, MA, is seeking a Junior Accountant to join its finance team! Which specializes in the finishing and distribution of metal sheet goods and decorative laminates.

Our client is looking for a highly organized and analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a problem solver, and capable of meeting tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform bank, cash, and expense report reconciliations.
• Manage accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) data entry.
• Complete credit applications and maintain AR records, ensuring up-to-date aging, accurate credit applications, and effective collections.
• Monitor and collect outstanding AR balances by contacting clients via phone, email, and mail.
• Maintain AP vendor records, including W-9s and account updates.
• Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation before processing payments.
• Resolve AP and AR discrepancies or inquiries.
• Track and maintain fixed assets records.
• Oversee Sales & Use Tax compliance.
• Assist with financial and tax audits and general ledger preparation.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or at least two years of experience as an AP/AR clerk or bookkeeper).
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or CPA certification is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (intermediate level required).
• Experience working with an accounting ERP system is a plus.
