Job Summary:
Masis Professional Group has an immediate need for a Legal Practice Assistant (LPA) at a very well established and highly reputable law firm in the Hackensack NJ area. The ideal candidate will have 3 years of legal experience and a strong background in supporting attorneys and associates across a variety of practice areas, including Bankruptcy, Corporate, Environmental, Litigation, Real Estate, Tax, and Trusts & Estates. The LPA will provide critical administrative support and ensure efficient operations within the firm.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative and practice support to attorneys and associates across multiple practice areas, including Bankruptcy, Corporate, Environmental, Litigation, Real Estate, Tax, and Trusts & Estates.
- Draft, proofread, and revise legal documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, and other legal materials.
- Manage and maintain case files, ensuring all documents are organized, up to date, and easily accessible.
- Coordinate and schedule client meetings, depositions, and court appearances.
- Assist with case management, including maintaining dockets, deadlines, and scheduling for various legal matters.
- Perform legal research and assist with case preparation, including discovery and trial preparation.
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel as needed, providing excellent customer service and acting as a liaison for the legal team.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
- Support attorneys in preparing presentations, reports, and other necessary documents.
- Utilize legal management software such as InTapp, iManage, and Microsoft Office tools to streamline workflow and improve efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 3 years of legal experience in a law firm or corporate environment, with experience supporting multiple practice areas, including Bankruptcy, Corporate, Environmental, Litigation, Real Estate, Tax, and Trusts & Estates.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to manage large volumes of work effectively.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a client-focused approach.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel) and InTapp is required.
- Knowledge of iManage and PowerPoint is a plus.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and proactively.
- A high level of professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
Education & Experience:
- Associate’s degree or higher is preferred.
- Paralegal certificate or other relevant certifications are a plus
Salary : $45,000 - $75,000
