This position supports a large group in creating and improving technical documentation used in NATOPS/NATIP and Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) for the E-130J, ensuring adherence to S1000D standards. The role also involves offering subject matter expertise and technical assistance for task-based training for Operators and Maintainers. Success in this role requires collaboration, excellent verbal and written communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs. Applicants with maintenance oversight experience or hands-on maintenance expertise are highly desirable.
Essential Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and revise technical documents to clearly and effectively convey complex information.
- Develop materials to support Naval Air Training and Operating Procedures Standardization (NATOPS), Naval Air Training and Information Program (NATIP), Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM), and aircraft testing procedures.
- Work closely with engineering, training, and technical staff throughout all phases of projects.
- Oversee intricate assignments from start to finish, ensuring timely completion.
- Travel as needed for training, maintenance, testing, validation, and verification purposes.
- Maintain excellent organizational and time-management skills while working within a collaborative environment.
- Perform additional duties as needed.
Job Requirements
- US Citizenship with an active Secret clearance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Bachelor’s degree or 10 years of equivalent professional experience.
- O-level troubleshooting expertise with military aircraft systems.
- Familiarity with flightline support equipment and aircraft maintenance.
- Formal education or training in aircraft systems maintenance and diagnostics.
- Knowledge of aircraft systems relevant to the specific aircraft type.
- Experience working with Technical Orders, Manuals, schematics, and related documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, and Microsoft Teams.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience in Navy ratings, Marine Corps MOS, or Air Force Specialty Codes such as AT, MOS 6316, 2A6X2, AD, MOS 6216, 2A6X6, AE, MOS 6336, 2A6X3, AME, MOS 6286, 2A6X3, AM, MOS 6256, or 2A6X1.
- Background in maintenance planning and validating technical publications.
- Familiarity with fixed-wing aircraft maintenance and S1000D-compliant authoring software.
- Experience in testing and evaluation.
