Quality Control Inspector – Structural Steel Fabrication
El Mirage, Arizona
Job Summary:
The Quality Control Inspector will work under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Manager, ensuring all structural steel fabrication processes meet company and industry standards. This role involves performing inspections, documenting results, and collaborating with shop supervisors to maintain quality compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform fit-up and dimensional inspections to verify compliance with shop drawings.
- Monitor welding operations to ensure adherence to codes and company welding procedures.
- Conduct 100% visual weld inspections to evaluate weld quality, size, and location.
- Oversee surface preparation and coating applications, including paint inspections for quality and dry film thickness.
- Accurately document all inspection results and findings.
- Communicate with shop supervisors regarding any non-compliant items identified.
- High School Diploma or GED (preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in structural steel fabrication.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to read and interpret structural steel blueprints.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools and measuring equipment.
- Previous quality control experience is preferred but not required.
- Training will be provided in inspection techniques, non-destructive testing, and relevant codes and standards (e.g., AISC, AWS).
- Must be a team player with a strong work ethic and attention to detail.
Compensation
$25.00 / per hour
