Masis Professional Group is assisting our client in searching for a Direct Hire, Electrical Maintenance Technician position.
Our client is an established Food Manufacturing company located in Haverhill.
The Electrical Maintenance Technician maintains production equipment through routine repairs and PM execution. Equipment consists of automated high speed industrial food manufacturing equipment, and skills needed include good mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and working at pace.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ability to maintain GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and food safety standards.
- Ability to work safely with programs such as lockout/tagout (LOTO).
- Equipment setup, adjustment, troubleshoot, perform preventive maintenance (PM) work, overhaul and repair.
- Use of shop tools, including cutting, grinding, drill press, welding and minimal machining. Perform work (if qualified) on electric motors and controls.
- Work with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) to perform work orders, document work, and order parts.
- Ability to read and comprehend technical manuals and prints.
- Ability to perform duties both outside and inside in varying conditions including extreme heat, extreme cold and wet and/or humid, etc.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
- High school diploma required. Technical college education or equivalent 2 years’ experience in manufacturing related field preferred.
- Must be able to interpret electrical and mechanical situations to determine process failure, needs, and improvements
- Must be able to perform preventive maintenance on equipment
- Must be able to use test equipment including but not limited to DMMs, amp meters, and megger meters
- Must be able to design, install, repair, replace, and maintain motors, drives, controls, starters, lights, power, communication, PLC, and other related systems
- Know the practices, methods, tools, materials, and equipment of the electrician’s trade
- Know the hazards and safety precautions of all procedures
- Know to diagnose and remedy maintenance problems
- Knowledge of AC/DC drive programming
- Knowledge of the National Electric Code
- Knowledgeable in the use of DOS, Windows, RSLogix, RSLinks, and other supplied software
- Knowledgeable of PID control
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance and electrical experience, PLC, and food manufacturing industry experience is preferred
- Ability to work in a team environment and a diverse workforce
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Able to lift 50 lbs. or more, climb a ladder, and stand for extended periods of time
- Must be flexible and able to work overtime and weekends when required
